Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards

The current #AgedCareQualityStandards will be strengthened as part of the new Aged Care Act and regulatory model.

The strengthened Quality Standards will commence from 1 July 2025, in line with the new #AgedCareAct with the existing Standards remaining in effect until then.

To prepare the aged care sector for the upcoming changes, the #AgedCare #QualityAndSafety Commission is implementing the Stronger Standards, Better Aged Care Program. The program will build awareness and capability, simplify processes and resources, and change the way quality is assessed within the aged care sector.

Consultation: Draft National Allied Health Workforce Strategy

The Department of Health and Aged Care has developed a Draft National #AlliedHealth #WorkforceStrategy as per recommendation by the Independent review of Australia's regulatory settings relating to overseas health practitioners Final Report.

The Draft Strategy highlights the importance of government, universities, allied health peak bodies, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations, and other sector partners, working together to improve allied health #WorkforcePlanning across Australia.

The document is now at the stage where more feedback is needed, with a survey released for anyone with an interest in the allied health workforce to contribute to the future development of the Draft Strategy.

The survey will remain open until 3 March 2025. You can provide feedback and support this vital document at: https://healthau.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ezatHpwBNqV9XAa.
